My Personal Bio
Most of the dogs I have handled over the years have been from the Working group, and include almost every breed represented in that group. Although currently owning a coated breed, my formative years in handling and showing came from learning on Dobermans, Rottweilers, and Boxers, breeds that demanded a knowledge of form and function in order to show effectively to accentuate proper profile and movement. This training has allowed me to recognize these same qualities in coated breeds as well.
I continue to be active in all aspects of the purebred dog, including grading litters for my clients, behavioral & obedience training, breed rescue, and I continue to handle group placing dogs, most recently in the Sporting group, Hound group, and Working group.
I have handled my client's Alaskan Malamute to #1 Mal in Canada in 2000, and in 2006 I campaigned my client's Bernese Mountain Dog to #2 BMD in Canada, who achieved a BISS win at the Canadian National Specialty in June, 2006 as well as multiple group placements.
Then,
of course, there was Tundra in 2005. Tundra's campaign year was
VERY memorable, all culminating to his final Best In Show at the largest
indoor dog show in Canada at Lower Mainland last October. His show
record for 2005 includes:
Our
achievements resulted in attaining # 1 Samoyed for 2005, and # 6 Working
Dog, ALL owner-handled. Personally, I achieved my CMA (Certified Management
Accountant) designation in November, 2004, and do contract work for
various companies in western Canada as a Hospitaltiy Accountant. |
